Host City Wrestlers Take Home Medals And Nunavut Recieves First ...

2011 Western Canada Summer Games Wrestling wrapped up on the McArthur Island Sports Centre on Tuesday. The medals were handed out and two Kamloops BC hometown female wrestlers walked away with a Gold and a Silver. Nunavut gathered their first two medals of the games in the colour of Bronze.

Since the list is extensive, we will start with the lightest Female class and work from there.

In the 40kg class, Team Alberta athlete Stephanie OSBURN (Edmonton) took home the gold, followed by hometown hero Tamara GEHRIN (Kamloops) and Team Saskatchewan?s Carly BAKER (Regina).

Team Sask member Nicole TRYHORN (Regina) took home the Gold in the 43kg division, while Team BC athlete Victoria GONZALO (North Vancouver) took the Silver and Grace MCDONNELL (Millet) is bringing the Bronze back home for Team Alberta.

Local Kamloops wrestler Alize Perriard kept the 46kg Gold medal home in the host city. Ambert WEIBE (Morden) from Team Manitoba is grabbed the Silver and Team Sask?s Amanda WALL (Saskatoon) has the Bronze.

Moving up to 49kg, Team Manitoba wrestler Rachel ALDER (Oakbank) took grappled to the Gold, followed by Team Saskatchewan?s Angela LALONDE (Saskatoon) and Team Alberta?s Abigail WATKINS (Okotoks).

In the 52kg division, Team Saskatchewan grappler Vicki BUST (Moose Jaw) took home the Gold, while Team Alberta athlete Zoe MANFRON (Calgary) took Silver and Arielle MARSEL-MACKENZIE (North Vancouver)? is bring the Bronze home.

Team BC athlete Chloe HORNE (North Vancouver) grabbed the Gold in 56kg. She was followed by Team ?Toba member Alisha KAEGI (Balmoral) and Team Saskatchewan?s Cassy BUSCH (Moose Jaw).

The 60kg division was won by Ashley OSACHUCK (Campbell River) of Team BC, while Victoria KENT (Saskatoon) of Team Saskatchewan took home Silver and Cassy BRENT (Okotoks) grabbed Bronze.

In the 65kg class, Team BC athlete Maegan KURUVITA (Duncan) has the Gold, while Team Alberta?s? Haley HEFFEL (Dapp) grappled to Silver and Team Saskatchewan grappler Alexis SIGDA (Regina) has the Bronze.

Team Alberta wrestler Trinity JONES (Fort Vermilion) grabbed the Gold in 70kg, while Team Saskatchewan?s Laura BELISLE (Regina) and Team BC Hannah LAURIDSEN (Duncan) have the Silver and Bronze.

In the last Women?s wrestling category, Team Saskatchewan?s Emily FOERSTER (Regina) grabbed the Gold in 80kg. Team BC Ryder MACCARVILLE (North Vancouver) took Silver and Team Alberta?s Jayme BATT (High Level) is going home with Bronze.

Moving onto the Men?s division, Team Saskatchewan grappler Devin KIRYK (Moose Jaw) took home the Gold in the 39-42kg class. Team BC?s Naydeep DHILLON (Abbotsford) and Team Manitoba Brandon PAULIN (Winnipeg) have the Silver and Bronze.

In 46kg, Team BC athlete Michael HERMAN (Campbell River) has the Gold, Team Sask Austin BAKER (Regina) grabbed Silver. Bronze is going home with Stephan LABOSSIERE (Winnipeg) of Team Manitoba.

Team Sask member Josh BODNARCHUCK (Saskatoon) grabbed the gold in 50kg, while Silver and Bronze went to Team Alberta?s Colton MCDONNELL (Millet) and Team BC?s Jordon Wagner (Port Alberni).

54kg saw Team BC Mathew DIGNAN (Abbotsford) take the gold, while Team Alberta member Nathan GALAN (Calgary) has Silver and Team Saskatchewan?s Ian HYMERS (Swift Current) took Bronze.

Team Sask grabbed another Gold with Lucas HOFFERT (Regina) in the 58kg division. Team BC?s Amanveer KALER (Abbotsford) took Silver while William NAKOOLAK (Coral Harbour) secured one Nunavut?s two medals in the games.

Moving up to 63kg, Austin CHAFFEE (Clyde) wrestled to the Gold for Team Alberta. Team Saskatchewan athlete Kyle MONAHAN (Saskatoon)? has Silver and Team BC?s Billy SAHOTA (Surrey) grabbed Bronze.

Team BC wrestler Jaskarn RANU (Surrey) took Gold in 69kg, while Team Cameron HYMERS (Swift Current) of Team Sask took Silver, followed by Team ?Toba grappler Armin KHARAZI (Winnipeg) for Bronze.

Moving up to ?the 76kg division, Team BC?s Jobanjit PHULKA (Abbotsford) grabbed Gold. Silver and Bronze went to Team Alberta?s Niklas MATYCIO (Whitecourt) and Team Manitoba?s Tyler BRYON (Winnipeg)

Team BC grabbed another Gold in the 85kg with Rajan GILL (Abbotsford). Team Alberta grappler Conan EGORDOFF (Plamondon) took Silver while David HOULI Jr. (Igoolik) grabbed Bronze for the only other medal of the games for Team Nunavut.

In the 100kg division, Team Alberta?s Lucas NOWOSIAD (Edmonton) took Gold. Team BC athlete Paul SOHOTA (Surrey) has the Silver while Team Sask Isaac LUBIAK (Regina) is going home with Silver.

Team BC took the Gold in the top weight division of 1115kg. It was Amar DHESI (Surrey) coming out on top, while Team Alberta?s Amardeep DHOTHER (Edmonton) grabbing Silver and Team ?Toba member Austin SPENCE (Peguis) going home with Bronze.
