About The Artist:
Chip Cecil?s paintings reflect his interest in artistic realism as well as a life long enthusiasm for automobiles. Having grease and paint in his blood (and under his fingernails), he is always looking for a creative venue to express his passion for art of the machine and human figure. He likes the dynamics of large oil paintings, and works from both photographs and life. A number of his paintings combine the human figure with the machine, with machines occasionally morphing into people.
A car collector as well, Chip owns a number of vintage cars including a 1965 Corvair Convertible and a 1972 BMW 2002. These cars appear in some of his paintings.
Chip?s work has appeared in numerous shows and galleries in the Washington, DC, Virginia, and Baltimore area. His work has also been on display at the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey, PA. In addition Chip is a published cartoonist, whose work has appeared in the New York Times, London Times, and specialty magazines.
Chip lives in Bethesda, MD and owns an auto detailing business through which he has cultivated clients for his paintings, including commissions of cars and motorcycles. He has served on the faculty of Yellow Barn Studio, a local art school.
Prints are available in various sizes on canvas and paper. Prices vary. Please contact the artist at 301-229-5293 or paintchip10@aol.com
