Pirates Cast Gave Away Coconuts To Hawaii Locals

2 hours ago | WENN | See recent WENN news ?

Locals in Kauai, Hawaii were handed a treat when the cast and crew of Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides filmed at the fabled Coco Palms Hotel - harvested coconuts were given away.

Producers couldn't risk any of the 773 palms dropping their fruit on the heads of stars like Johnny Depp and pregnant Penelope Cruz, so they made sure there were no nuts hanging high above cast and crew - and, to make sure the coconuts didn't go to waste, they were given to locals.

The location was extra special for Elvis Presley fan Geoffrey Rush - the late King of Rock 'n' Roll filmed scenes for Blue Hawaii at the hotel, which is no longer in operation.

Rush even hosted a screening of the Elvis film in his Kauai hotel room.
