Cranston RI Resident Joins Institute for Sport Coaching

Louis Pullano, longtime advocate for coaching education and youth sports in Rhode Island, has joined the Institute for Sport Coaching (ISC) as its youth sports consultant. Currently the Associate Dean of Student Life / Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation at the Community College of Rhode Island, Pullano has made his mark within the youth, interscholastic and intercollegiate sports in Rhode Island as a high school coach, youth sports organizer and coach, and sports administrator. Pullano resides in Cranston, Rhode Island.
?Having someone of Lou?s experience and reputation join the Institute?s staff increases our ability to serve communities and youth groups looking to create programs to develop successful youth sport coaches,? said Christopher Hickey, ISC?s executive director. ?I have been very impressed with Lou?s youth sports philosophy which stresses letting youth have fun, and creating safe and positive sports experiences. I am looking forward to Lou assisting us to help create quality sport coaches in Rhode Island and throughout the rest of New England.?
Pullano coached and taught at the high school level for 17 years where he was the head baseball and boys soccer coach at West Warwick High School before moving to CCRI. He has a BS and MS in education from the University of Rhode Island. Pullano founded the Rhode Island High School Baseball Coaches? Hall of Fame and the Met-Life High School Soccer Fest. Also, he is a keynote speaker at the annual Principles of Positive Coaching Seminars in Rhode Island.
